Compression Therapy

Maternity graduated compression stockings are specially designed to expand with you during pregnancy.

Worn during the day, these compression stockings counteract swelling and protect against varicose veins by applying a light, soothing pressure to the exterior portion of the legs, which helps prevent fluid from accumulating.

If you’re pregnant and are experiencing tired, aching legs, or excessive swelling in the lower legs and ankles, ask your primary care provider about wearing maternity graduated compression stockings.

Benefits of Compression

Compression stockings and socks provide external support to the vein walls during pregnancy in addition, they:

  • Prevents swelling and discomfort in your legs.
  • Promotes blood circulation back to your heart to reduce your risk of blood clots.
  • Prevents and minimizes the risk of varicose veins – 33% of first time expectant moms develop varicose veins and 56% develop them in their second pregnancy.

Knee high stockings, also known as compression socks, provide relief for those individuals experiencing pain and swelling in their calf and ankle.

Maternity Stockings

Full-length compression stockings are designed for individuals who are experiencing pain and swelling from their back down to their toes.

Thigh High Stockings

Thigh high stockings provide compression for those individuals experiencing swelling down the length of their thigh.

Measuring Guide

When To Take Measurements

It is important that the edema is at its most reduced state. Most often this is found first thing in the morning or at the end of treatment.

How To Take Length Measurements

Length measurements should be taken from each circumference. It is recommended that you mark the leg with a non-permanent, non-toxic marker at each circumference measurement. The length measurement is then taken even with the floor, along the inside of the leg, up to each circumference point.
